Springtime

Springtime was designed to incorporate design skills in letterpress printing with packaging design. The big idea was to design a box for a perfume bottle with a theme of spring and cherry blossoms. The design of the box will contain trim lines and dashed score lines. The print design will consist of a floral pattern, which will be cut from acetate, and metal type for the front label. The final design will be trimmed, scored, and taped to form a box.  The rest of the edition will be disturbed as a single 11x17” sheet so the rest of the class can learn about packaging design and eventually build their own perfume box. Lastly, a photoshoot was conducted with various items which include the perfume box, perfume bottle, makeup products, accessories, and jewelry. Capturing the consumer
and target audience when deciding on the layout and color palette made the packaging more realistic.
